rexx systems offers comprehensive software solutions for human resources. The rexx suite from the Hamburg-based company with branches in Switzerland, Austria, and Sweden combines applicant management (recruiting), human resources and talent management as a cloud service.
Challenge
rexx systems develops software for various requirements in personnel management. This includes tools for time management and training as well as interfaces to job exchanges and payroll accounting. Anyone who manages this sensitive information in a cloud service relies on maximum data protection mechanisms. The company was looking for a high-security data centre for SaaS and IaaS with the highest standards and certifications, whose operator can also support them as a partner with their own certifications and audits. In addition, the handling of the booked services should be simple and practice-orientated, because rexx systems has to scale its services very flexibly.
Solution
rexx systems uses the “vDatacenter”, i.e. a server farm virtualised with VMware. Via a secure portal, the SaaS provider can operate and manage as required and provide resources in geo-redundant data centres. A special cloud points system allows a contingent to be called up so that each individual service does not have to be booked separately. The setup of rexx systems is protected by a highly available and fault-tolerant firewall that grows with the increasing requirements. The company has read access to the firewall and allows changes to be made via the noris network ticket system.
Project success
From an additional mainstay to the most important infrastructure partner – that’s the success story in a nutshell. No less than 80 percent of the users of the SaaS-based HR software solutions are now served from the data centres of noris network. rexx systems appreciates the up to four times faster storage, the high availability and the excellent communication compared to other providers. Fewer outages, better communication and higher performance are the reasons why more and more IT offerings are migrating from rexx systems to noris network. This even applies to the company’s own systems. “The few servers that are still located at the rexx systems headquarters in Hamburg for development purposes are gradually being migrated to noris network and operations are being taken over so that the focus can increasingly be placed on the further development of software and services,” says Christian Schmidt, IT Administration at rexx systems GmbH, Hamburg.
