MADELEINE Mode GmbH is a mail order company for women’s fashion based in Zirndorf near Nuremberg. Since 1978, MADELEINE has been offering an exclusive, high-quality collection that includes high fashion, business fashion and basics as well as accessories and lingerie. MADELEINE translates catwalk trends into its own style and produces up to ten fashion collections a year. The MADELEINE collection is available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Great Britain.
Challenge
Nowadays, mail order business is increasingly conducted via the Internet, which means that a reliable IT infrastructure is also critical to the business of the traditional fashion house MADELEINE. In the past, MADELEINE Mode GmbH used the IT structure of the Arcandor Group. In order to prevent the shutdown of its own online stores when the latter became insolvent, MADELEINE was looking for a reliable partner for the long-term IT support and hosting of madeleine.de and emilialay.de.
Solution
The IT managers at MADELEINE Mode GmbH asked noris network to propose a migration concept. As the data center operator responded quickly and competently to the needs of the fashion mail order company, it was commissioned to prepare the move. This involved hosting the entire IT infrastructure of the web stores, basic operation with a central firewall, network connection and mail server. Remote access service access with one-time passwords as well as dedicated lines and VPNs to domestic and foreign locations and partners were also provided.

After the order was placed, noris network AG needed only 70 days to completely rebuild the various websites, including complex IT structures, in the redundantly secured data center. The rapid support in setting up its own IT infrastructure was just the start of long-term intensive support. Fail-safe systems in the high-security data center do their job so that customers can store to their heart’s content in the convenient web stores of the MADELEINE and EMILIA LAY brands. This results in 8 terabytes of data traffic per month.
