ISE Information Systems Engineering GmbH was founded in 1991. It has its headquarters in Gräfenberg and branch offices in Nuremberg and Munich. ISE specializes in consulting and implementing integrated IT strategies with a focus on Oracle database applications. The company supports its customers in the optimization of business processes with a complete range of services – from analysis, consulting, planning and implementation to operation. ISE is a multiple award-winning Platinum Partner of Oracle.
Challenge
ISE Information Systems Engineering GmbH was the first system house in Germany to specialize in the Oracle Exastack Family (Exadata, Exalogic, Exalytics). At the end of 2010, the multiple award-winning Oracle Platinum Partner opened its first test center with the acquisition of an Exadata Database Machine. However, this test center quickly reached its limits, as not only the database server, but also the application and analysis systems needed to be tested in full operation. The Oracle Exastack Family, as the overall solution is called, was brought together in the ISE Oracle Technology Center and places high demands on its accommodation.
Solution
The first construction phase of noris network’s data center NBG 6 was opened at the end of 2011 and ISE was the first user to move into Europe’s most modern data center. The unique modular and scalable power supply and cooling concept that the data center service provider implemented here allows the entire area to be used as high-density rack space with the best efficiency values. Scalability is another advantage, as the Exastack machines can also be scaled directly to larger units via InfiniBand.
Project success
Since the opening of the ISE Oracle Technology Center, the test facility for Exastack systems has already attracted a number of customers, prominent examples being the Allianz subsidiary IDS and the real estate portal immonet.de. In addition to potential users, the test center is also open to developers: ISVs can test their applications on Exadata, Exalogic and Exalytics for functionality and performance and have them certified as compatible.
