As a subsidiary of Finanz Informatik (FI), Finanz Informatik Technologie Service GmbH (FI-TS) is part of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and offers IT services for private and public banks, insurance companies and financial service providers. Its customers range from Landesbanken (LBBW, BayernLB, Helaba, Nord/LB etc.) and savings banks to Versicherungskammer Bayern, building societies and private institutions. The company operates the infrastructure for its services in various data centers in Germany.
Challenge
Finanz Informatik Technologie Service GmbH (FI-TS) offers IT services for private and public banks, insurance companies and financial service providers. Their Nuremberg data centers were to be modernized. A new location had to be found for one of them, which proved to be difficult, not least because it had to meet the highest security standards in accordance with Trusted Site Infrastructure Level 4 and EN 50600. As FI-TS does not want to own any real estate itself for strategic business reasons, a partner was sought.
Solution
noris network offered to build a completely new data center according to customer specifications – right next to their existing facilities in Nuremberg and compliant with the location requirements of the security standards. This included the minimum distance to the other FI-TS data center and the distance to the runways of Nuremberg Airport. The offer was convincing not least due to the knowledge of the regulatory details. After consulting with its customers, FI-TS decided to commission noris network with the construction of a data center.
Project success
Despite the corona pandemic, the 1600 square meter energy-efficient high-security data center for FI-TS was completed on time. noris network is responsible for the general data center infrastructure and security. FI-TS is responsible for the installation and operation of the IT systems. However, the team has the option of utilizing local hands services and support from noris network for emergency drills at any time.
